Tech Talks & Lasagna

Hi folks! This one goes out to all those interested in innovation and technology, and how it impacts people in a democracy. Paul and myself work in the design and technology space, and we both have a bent for civic technology, as well as a couple of years under our belt working in the industry. We're passionate about the role tech can play in communities, and how it can create new access and steward resources. Discussion: In light of the #28DaysOfDeepeningDemocracy campaign, we'll be discussing the role technology can play in a deepening our democracy in South Africa. To keep it rich and stimulating, we'll have some set questions, as well as some case studies to refer to. Questions like: - What roles can tech play in a community that contribute to growth, development and access. - What does an unhealthy tech role in a community look like. - How do decentralized systems and markets effect a democratic economy. - How can we use tech and systems to steward our resources better. Menu: For this evening event we're going to full your tummies with some vegetable lasagna made by my wife and I, along with a glass of wine each, and some ice cream for pudding!
